The Grocott Centre was founded in 1952 as an independent voluntary organisation; we are a registered as a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee. As a not for profit organization we are committed to providing high quality responsive services, and to using our resources to create and sustain opportunities for the people of our community.
Our centre is situated in Clarence Street, Fenton and is named Sanderson House in honour of our late Chairman George Sanderson who served the organisation for over fifty years.
We work with people who have a wide range of support needs including; physical and or learning disabilities, older age, dementia, mental health needs, illness and allied conditions ranging from short term support to enable people to regain their independence, on-going support to enable people to maintain their health and well-being, to intensive support to enable people with complex needs to enjoy an active and fulfilling life. Our services provide vital carer relief and support.
We passionately believe that the people we support have the right to lead active and fulfilling lives as valued members of the community.
We are a local authority approved service provider and are monitored and inspected under these contracts. We hold a food hygiene rating of five.
We promote service user consultation and involvement in the running and development of our services. We actively listen to people we support and their families by regular forums, individual consultations and annual questionnaires.
We have in place comprehensive policies, procedures and practices to ensure we meet legislative, regulatory, contractual and best practice requirements. We audit, monitor and evaluate our services with a proactive approach to quality assurance and development.
